Terrence P. Fergus

Terrence P. Fergus, CPA, PFS is president of FSM Capital Management, LLC. His prior experience
included serving as a senior tax partner in the Cleveland office of KPMG LLP where he had been a member for 19
years, since joining the firm in 1982. In addition to his duties as a tax partner, he served as Partner in Charge
of the Northeast Ohio Financial Institutions Practice - Tax, and served as tax partner on a number of merger and
acquisitions engagements. In addition, he was a member of KPMG’s Innovative Tax Strategies Committee and Tax
Operating Committee as well as the National Director of Insurance Consulting Services.
He also provides special financial consulting for a number of high wealth individuals and professional athletes.
Mr. Fergus has over 30 years of experience and he frequently lectures to boards of directors, corporate executives,
and professional groups. He has been quoted numerous times in the Washington Post, New York Times, Chicago Tribune,
The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Cincinnati Post, Crain’s Cleveland Business and the Cleveland
Plain Dealer.
Mr. Fergus maintains a particular specialization in the valuation of life insurance products and their uses
in financial, estate and retirement planning, as well as their applicability to the corporate environment in
alternative investment, compensation packages and succession planning strategies.
Mr. Fergus is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, from which he has earned
the Personal Financial Specialist designation. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Mr. Fergus received a Bachelor
of Arts degree in accounting from Cleveland State University. He serves on the University Hospitals Development
Board, and the Board of Trustees of at John Carroll University.
